1. How do you view the Ethereum ZK L2 system TAIKO, which is also supported by Vitalik?
I had some understanding of this project earlier, but I haven’t followed it closely since. Mainly because I couldn’t see its characteristics from an overall perspective, so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Additionally, my time, energy, and financial resources are limited, so I didn’t participate in this project to take advantage of it.
Vitalik often mentions various projects in his articles, and some people may think that he is promoting these projects. However, I don’t see it that way. I think sometimes he purely evaluates a project from a technical perspective.
There are many such cases in his articles.
For example, a long time ago, the Loopring team created a decentralized exchange using ZK technology. Vitalik mentioned this exchange in various occasions. From a technical perspective, this exchange was indeed cutting-edge in its scenario at that time, and it was probably the first decentralized exchange to use ZK technology.
From a technical perspective, it was appropriate for Vitalik to mention it, and his purpose was also clear – to promote and encourage the Ethereum ecosystem to adopt and use ZK technology.
But I didn’t buy the tokens of that exchange because the ZK technology was still immature at that time, and the exchange had significant limitations in terms of scalability, clearly unable to compete with Uniswap.
The development and success of a project depend on many factors, and technology is only one of them. Therefore, I think it is important to study and understand the projects mentioned by Vitalik, especially in terms of technical foresight and orientation.
However, whether or not to participate in the projects he mentions should be independently judged.
2. Why does this bull market feel difficult?
I think it entirely depends on how we define a bull market.
If we go by my standards, there hasn’t been a new bull market since the collapse of the previous one because Bitcoin and Ethereum have not reached new all-time highs together (only Bitcoin surpassed its previous peak).
Historically, bull markets usually arrive about half a year after Bitcoin’s halving. If we look at it from a historical perspective, this bull market may not come until after October this year.
It’s only June now, so there’s no need to rush or feel that this round is particularly difficult to endure.
Just like in previous bull markets, we have to be patient before the bull market arrives.
3. Has Li Ka-shing left the mainland too early or too late after being away for ten years?
Mr. Li Ka-shing is a senior businessman whom I admire.
I don’t like to comment on such a senior figure based on the popular emotions found online. I have always believed that as long as someone abides by the law and makes significant contributions to charitable causes, there is nothing to criticize. Based on this alone, Mr. Li has made more contributions to society than most people can make in their lifetime.
Earlier, I saw a news article online: In February this year, officials from Mr. Li’s hometown went to Hong Kong to visit him and his parents.
The details mentioned in the news article stated that Mr. Li politely replied (roughly): Whenever there is an opportunity, he will definitely contribute to his hometown and country.
I think this statement clearly indicates Mr. Li’s view on whether he left the mainland too early or too late.
4. How is AMPL doing?
I bought this token during the last bull market, and I also received governance tokens as a reward for providing liquidity. Therefore, it left a deep impression on me.
But when the last bull market was approaching its peak, I sold all of it. I haven’t seen any particular innovations or new directions from the project since then, so I haven’t bought it again and gradually forgot about this project.
