The bank has been actively promoting the application of the digital yuan through system technology output, joint construction of characteristic scenarios, and sharing of marketing resources. The process of interbank cooperation for the digital yuan has significantly accelerated, with the number of cooperative institutions ranking at the forefront among operating institutions.
By the end of May, Industrial Bank had signed service agreements with 125 tier-2.5 cooperative institutions and launched cooperation with 60 banks, covering joint-stock banks, urban and rural commercial banks, private banks, and village and town banks, further expanding the usage scenarios of the digital yuan.
Leveraging its deep cultivation in the interbank and financial market sectors through the “Silver-Silver Platform” brand, Industrial Bank continues to provide digital yuan cooperation services that offer complementary advantages and open win-win opportunities for partner institutions. It is understood that since this year, tier-2.5 cooperative banks have become more eager to build digital yuan scenarios in retail, public, livelihood, and inclusive finance areas. The Silver-Silver Platform adheres to the spirit of “joint construction, ownership, sharing, and winning” and has created innovative service models such as head office-branch linkage, the establishment of special working groups by multiple parties, open sharing of scenarios, and providing tier-2.5 systems for cooperative banks. After establishing tier-2.5 cooperation with Industrial Bank, partner banks can support the basic functions of the digital yuan on their own channels, allowing customers to handle personal and corporate digital yuan wallets, digital yuan merchant acquisition, and other services through the bank’s mobile banking, corporate internet banking, and other proprietary channels. They can also receive support for joint scenario construction and personalized customization services, thereby empowering their own business innovation.
Currently, Industrial Bank has successfully exported various scenario applications to tier-2.5 cooperative banks, including “One Code Scan” merchant acquisition, automatic redemption, co-branded hardware wallets, utility payments, salary distribution, fiscal subsidy distribution, consumer loans, B2C red packets, and tripartite tax payments. The bank is also actively exploring the establishment of characteristic scenarios such as services for Taiwan and cross-border pilot projects, enhancing the digital yuan application capabilities of cooperative banks.
Taking the service for Taiwan as an example, Industrial Bank recently opened its digital yuan services to Fubon Huayi Bank, a leading Taiwanese bank in terms of domestic branch numbers and asset scale, becoming the first national institution to support Taiwanese clients in upgrading their digital yuan wallets through a cooperative bank channel and completing the country’s first digital yuan corporate wallet receipt business for a Taiwanese bank. Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises can obtain digital yuan services through the channels of Industrial Bank or Fubon Huayi Bank and support consumers in using digital yuan payments at Taiwanese enterprise merchants. “Compared to anonymous digital yuan wallets, real-name digital yuan wallets have advantages in terms of transfer limits and balance caps,” said a responsible person from the Bank Cooperation Center of Industrial Bank. The bank’s opening of digital yuan services to overseas cooperative banks will further broaden the payment channels for Taiwanese compatriots coming to the mainland, enhancing the payment experience.
In the future, Industrial Bank will further accelerate the development of digital yuan functional scenarios, continuously optimize the experience of cooperative banks, vigorously carry out joint marketing promotions, and create a new ecology for tier-2.5 cooperation.
