Coinworld reports:
Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov strongly supports Hamster Kombat, praising the crypto game taking over his leading messaging platform as “the fastest-growing digital service in the world”
Durov said on his Telegram channel on Thursday: “A new era is coming, and we are witnessing its arrival in real time.” He described Hamster Kombat as the current leader of the “new wave” mini-apps, which he believes will bring blockchain technology to the masses.
Mini-apps like Hamster Kombat can be played by any of Telegram’s over 900 million users without leaving the messaging app. Many of these companies, including Hamster Kombat and its spiritual predecessor Notcoin, have integrated with Telegram’s chosen blockchain network, The Open Network, offering crypto rewards in the form of token airdrops to attract players.
While Hamster Kombat has claimed a large and rapidly expanding user base for weeks, Durov confirmed these claims for the first time on Thursday, stating that the mini-app reached an astounding 239 million registrations in just three months.
Durov further stated that on average, the game gains 4 to 5 million new players daily, which he estimates to be the fastest-growing digital service on the planet right now.
Undoubtedly, Hamster Kombat is making a global impact. Last week, Iranian government officials condemned the game’s popularity in their country, considering it a Western attempt at “soft warfare” ahead of the presidential election, luring Iranians with “dreams of getting rich overnight without working.”
The much-anticipated game airdrop is tentatively set to land sometime this month. Hamster Kombat is the largest of the growing number of Telegram crypto games, with other notable titles including Yescoin, TapSwap, Catizen, PixelTap, and W-Coin.
