Coin World Network reports:
1. MEME tokens rely on public sentiment; if the focus is on ecosystem building, how are they different from altcoins?
Valuing a token based on sentiment or ecosystem reflects two different value judgments:
Sentiment value can only bring short-term effects, while ecosystem building can generate long-term effects.
Very few sentiment values in the world can be perpetually sustained.
Bitcoin is recognized as the token with the strongest sentiment value and greatest consensus in the entire crypto ecosystem. However, its journey from zero to today has undergone countless brutal bear markets and crashes; it hasn’t just soared continuously to its current state.
Projects like Bitcoin, with its strong core value and unique narrative, can continually generate sentiment value, build consensus, and repeatedly climb from the bottom to new peaks, are rare in the entire crypto ecosystem.
Such projects do not need an ecosystem to persist.
But what about other tokens?
The majority, if they lack an ecosystem, are likely to only ride on short-term sentiment, depending on how long and how strongly the sentiment can sustain and how high it can drive the token price.
It’s entirely beyond my judgment to determine how long short-term sentiment can last, how strong its effect can be, and how high it can push the token price.
So, when I look at MEME tokens, if I only see sentiment value and no ecosystem building, I would only treat it as a game, an experience to feel the community atmosphere and value resonance, similar to gambling. I would estimate a price height based on my feelings and definitely leave at that point, without lingering. I wouldn’t care much about profit or loss and would certainly not invest heavily.
But if I see MEME having a strong team leading and continuously promoting its development and ecosystem building, I would seriously consider its future prospects and potential, consider long-term holding, and not engage in frequent buying and selling for short-term price fluctuations.
2. Do altcoins still have a chance to rise?
If altcoins refer to tokens other than Bitcoin and Ethereum, I think it depends on the development of the projects behind these tokens.
If the projects are continuously advancing and building, even if the tokens’ empowerment is slightly lacking, I believe they still have a chance for a comeback – at least the price will be higher than now. Many continually developing DeFi projects fall into this category.
But if a project hasn’t been updated or made progress for a long time, then their tokens will face significant risk in the future.
3. What about ZETA and CEL tokens?
I don’t know much about the CEL token. Regarding ZETA (ZetaChain), I shared my views in an article before: I found it average.
However, recently I’ve seen several articles discussing chain abstraction mentioning ZetaChain, and simultaneously, they also mentioned another chain: Particle Network.
ZetaChain and Particle Network are both projects in the chain abstraction field.
Chain abstraction aims to solve user experience issues, greatly enhancing the convenience of using blockchain, eliminating the need to switch between chains, and allowing operations across various blockchains within a unified interface.
Comparing ZetaChain and Particle Network from the chain abstraction perspective, I prefer Particle Network: it focuses on solving chain abstraction issues within the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly among various Layer 2 expansions. This is an urgent problem that the Ethereum ecosystem needs to address now and is essential for Ethereum’s future mainstream adoption.
This issue is relatively easier to solve technically and can yield faster results.
Other projects aiming to solve the main chain abstraction issues of various blockchains face relatively higher technical challenges, and their effectiveness might be average.
So when I see Zeta, I think of Particle Network.
