Coin Realm reports:
The cryptocurrency industry is a vibrant sector with many exciting developments occurring daily.
However, it often falls prey to hackers and criminals who aim to exploit novice users unable to securely store their cryptocurrencies.
This is particularly true for the meme coin sector.
That said, Shiba Inu (SHIB) is one of the most popular meme coins, boasting a large community.
The project’s marketing head, LUCIE, has just retweeted a warning from another member of the Shibarium team, cautioning users to steer clear of a Telegram group named ShibaSweepers.
Reminder: Until further notice, please avoid the Telegram group “ShibaSweepers” as its behavior is suspicious and it may have been compromised by hackers. Source: X

As recently reported by CryptoPotato, private key leaks have been identified as the main cause of cryptocurrency thefts in the second quarter of 2024. According to a report by SlowMist, these cases involve users storing their seed phrases on cloud solutions such as Tencent Docs, Baidu Cloud, Shimo Docs, and Google Docs.
Telegram vulnerabilities are also common. Malicious actors lure victims into group chats, persuading them to click on links that ultimately connect them to phishing websites or software that drains their wallets.
This is why one should never click on unknown links. Storing cryptocurrencies in a hardware wallet not connected to the internet is also a better solution.
