The widespread adoption of Web3 remains a focal point for the market. For instance, the Solana blockchain aims to break into mainstream with its social meme platform Blinks, while the Ton blockchain hopes to achieve similar prominence through Telegram mini-games. Ton’s public chain has now entered the top 10 by market capitalization, boasting over 900 million Telegram users and a thriving ecosystem. Many projects within the Ton ecosystem plan to utilize airdrop marketing strategies, offering numerous opportunities for community participants to benefit.
I. Tonsquare:
Tonsquare is an EVM L2 chain on the Ton public blockchain, akin to Neon (market cap $600 million) for Solana and Aurora (market cap $200 million) for Near. The token TOS plans to airdrop 75% to node KEY holders, with projected market capitalization of over $50 million.
KEY represents operational nodes on the public chain and enables the production of TOS tokens upon activation, yielding approximately 350%. Future revenue streams for KEY include cross-chain bridge fees and gas dividends from new public chains. Generated TOS tokens can also be staked, with staking starting from June 2024 for a duration of 6 months, offering a yield of about 300%.
The auction model for node KEY resembles Gala nodes, with constant price increases. Currently in the 2nd phase out of 15, it remains in its early stages. Holding more than 3 KEYs allows participants to claim Tonsquare NFTs on the testnet, requiring prior acquisition of Gas on the EVM testnet for operations. A risk factor is that KEY can only be purchased and not sold.
II. Hamster Kombat:
Hamster Kombat, a Tap-to-Earn game developed by a Russian team, rewards players with coins by tapping on hamsters (simulating the CEO role of an exchange). It encourages community interaction for unlocking additional rewards and offers passive income through purchasing upgrade cards for mining. Similar Telegram click games include the already launched Notcoin (Russian team, 40 million users), Tapswap (Ukrainian team, 60 million users), Yescoin (Chinese team, 20 million users), and HypeSaints.
Hamster Kombat enjoys high popularity in third-world countries, with substantial participation from gold farming studios domestically, totaling 200 million users. Considering Notcoin, the leading game in the Ton ecosystem with a market cap of $1.5 billion, Hamster Kombat may find it challenging to exceed $500 million in market value, hence the expected airdrop per account might not be substantial.
III. Pixelverse:
Pixelverse is a cyber-style battle game where users train robotic pets, engaging in battles through clicking (PVP and PVE modes) across different maps in the game center. Similar Telegram battle games include Majyo Treasure (airdrop ratio 85%). Founded by a former Binance executive responsible for the Middle East, the token PIXFI plans to airdrop 25%. Interestingly, PIXFI is an ERC20 token rather than issued on the Ton chain and will later launch on the Pixelchain, an EVM game public chain based on Cosmos. Pixelverse currently boasts 30 million users (with over 5 million daily active users) and could be a significant contributor.
IV. Pepe Wick:
Pepe Wick, a shoot-’em-up game developed by a Chinese team, akin to Plants vs. Zombies. Players continuously spend tokens to upgrade characters, each playable for a limited daily time of half an hour. It also features occasional collective boss battles with rewards from Ton’s prize pool. However, the token PEW plans an airdrop ratio of only 6%, suggesting it may not offer substantial returns.
V. Mow:
Mow is a pixel-art shooting game where players shoot monsters to earn coins for upgrading weapons, featuring strong gameplay in campaign and PVP modes. The project is still in its testing phase, with specific airdrop plans yet to be disclosed.
VI. Catizen:
Catizen, developed by a Chinese team, is a pet-raising game resembling match-three puzzles. Users manage a cat café to cultivate pets of various levels, collect their outputs, and further nurture higher-level pets. It also allows purchasing game props to accelerate pet hatching. Future plans include launching Launchpool in collaboration with over ten WeChat mini-games, transitioning to the Catizen gaming platform, where staking the token CATI can grant eligibility for initial offerings.
Catizen currently boasts 23 million users (with over 1.5 million daily active users), and 50% of users are paying customers, generating $12 million in revenue within just three months since launch (with substantial contributions from gold farming studios). Despite investments from the Ton official foundation, the data seems somewhat “too good to be true.” The token CATI plans an airdrop ratio as high as 42%, coupled with its platform token attributes, with an announcement of the July airdrop.
VII. Chick Coop:
Chick Coop, a farm simulation game developed by a Chinese team, involves daily egg sales to upgrade chicken farms, currently boasting 1.5 million users (with 300,000 daily active users). The token CHICK plans an airdrop ratio of 34%, alongside NFTs and staking mechanisms.
