On August 12th, Elon Musk, the owner of X, stated that the Weibo platform seemed to have suffered from a large-scale Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack and he was “working to shut it down.”
DDOS attacks aim to disrupt websites or services by injecting false traffic into the network to prevent users from accessing the website.
He said, “As this massive attack indicates, people face a lot of opposition just by hearing what President Trump has to say, but I am honored to have this conversation.”
