Eclipse Mainnet is about to launch, how is the ecological development? How to layout airdrop opportunities?
Last week, Eclipse officially launched its official bridge, supporting the transfer of ETH from Ethereum to the Eclipse network. At the same time, the project will launch its mainnet in the coming weeks.
Despite the controversies surrounding Eclipse, such as undisclosed private transactions between Polychain’s former partner Niraj Pant and Eclipse Labs’ former CEO Neel Somani, the project’s popularity remains strong.
As an Ethereum-based Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) L2 project, Eclipse combines the data availability and verifiability of Celestia, the ZK fraud proof technology of RISC ZERO, and bridges Ethereum and Solana. It not only combines the high performance and scalability of SVM, but also retains the security attributes of Ethereum. In addition, Eclipse accepts ETH as a gas payment method, which helps it easily obtain liquidity and benefit from the network effect of Ethereum.
The author also noticed that Eclipse CEO Vijay Chetty revealed at the Solana Breakpoint 2024 that Eclipse has become one of the largest data users of Celestia. Currently, Eclipse’s ecosystem is mainly focused on three verticals: DeFi, consumers, and infrastructure, and plans to launch its mainnet in October.
When talking about the future development of Eclipse, Vijay Chetty shared the project’s roadmap, including establishing trustless L2, achieving trustless deposits and chain scaling, introducing fraud proofs and forced inclusion, developing the Sequencer rotation protocol and governance mechanism, etc. He also mentioned that Eclipse’s long-term vision is to promote high-throughput DeFi and consumer applications on the chain, and plans to introduce Firedancer.
Note: Firedancer is designed to eliminate single points of failure and enhance the overall stability and robustness of the network. Unlike the existing Rust-based validators, Firedancer is written in C language, which significantly reduces the potential impact of vulnerabilities on the entire network, adding another strong line of defense to Solana’s security. It is worth mentioning that Eclipse has also created the Unified Restaking Token (URT) “tETH”, which allows users to deposit LRT tokens in exchange for tETH to participate in more Eclipse DeFi opportunities and earn more rewards. In Vijay Chetty’s eyes, Eclipse will become the home of LRTfi. URT currently supports ETH and will support SOL in the future.
Eclipse has raised a total of $65 million, and its ecosystem development has attracted attention since the mainnet was opened to builders at the end of July. It is worth noting that several mainstream Solana ecosystem projects such as Orca, Save, Mango, and Backpack will support the Eclipse network, but the native projects of Eclipse are currently relatively scarce. Next, let’s explore the ecosystem and interaction of Eclipse together.
DeFi:
– Orca: Token exchange and liquidity platform on Solana, will be launched on Eclipse.

– Save (formerly Solend): Lending platform on Solana.
– Mango Markets: Solana ecosystem DEX.
– Lifinity: DEX on Solana, uses oracles to update prices provided on the DEX.
– Neptune Protocol: Native stablecoin project in the Eclipse ecosystem, allows users to deposit various collateral types (TIA, stTIA, wETH, stETH, SOL, JitoSOL, mSOL, stDYDX, and RETH) to create a Neptune Treasury, which enables them to borrow from Neptune. Loans are issued in the platform’s native stablecoin USDN. Neptune Protocol will also issue protocol token NPT, which rewards users providing liquidity to the system. In addition, people who stake NPT tokens will receive staking rewards proportionally.
– Hedgehog: Prediction market on Solana.
– Invariant: AMM DEX on Solana.
– Zeus Network: Permissionless communication layer on Solana.
– Hourglass: Allows token stakers to have access to partner tokens within the community.
– Ebisu: Allows users to borrow USD-denominated credit by re-staking liquidity collateralized tokens (LRT) with decentralized stablecoins. ebUSD is Ebisu’s over-collateralized stablecoin that allows users to earn rewards through EigenLayer AVS and Ethereum staking rewards. Ebisu has launched the Ebisu Money public testnet on Omni Omega.
– Stride: Liquidity staking and modular cross-chain project in the Celestia and Cosmos ecosystems.
– Allora: Decentralized AI network, previously announced integration with Eclipse, allowing developers to access advanced AI models directly from Allora’s infrastructure.

– EnsoFi: Fixed-rate and lending protocol on Solana and Sui, already launched on Eclipse testnet.
– ether.fi: Liquidity restaking project on Ethereum.
– Dinero: Yield protocol on Ethereum, including ETH liquidity staking token (pxETH, benefiting from Dinero validator ETH staking yield), collateral-backed stablecoin pxUSD, and permissionless RPC.
– Renzo Protocol: Liquidity restaking protocol.
– Swell: Liquidity restaking platform.
– Nucleus: Yield protocol that boosts user earnings by directly integrating with restaking platforms and earns lending returns using the Ion Protocol. Nucleus will soon support tETH on Eclipse.
– Leverage.fun: DeFi platform built with a focus on risk management, launched by spot, perpetual, and options P2P marketplace Convergence.
– Astrol: Native lending protocol on Eclipse. Its first product, Astrolend, is an over-collateralized decentralized lending protocol.

– Validators: NFT series on Eclipse, also provides the Eclipse Bridge. Validators’ Blip feature supports sending messages to wallets on Eclipse.
– After School Club: NFT series and student community on Eclipse.
– Meme:
– Let’s Cook: Launchpad, MemeFi platform. The platform’s on-chain community rating system, Hype, is inspired by Reddit’s voting system. Let’s Cook has also launched an on-chain points system, Sauce, where users can earn Sauce through activities such as rating and executing market orders. Sauce will be used for COOK token distribution in the future.
– XSTATION: Allows trading of memecoins and execution of other on-chain activities directly on X, Web3 social networks.
