Guest Message: The growth of OKX is visible to the naked eye. Its product development has always been at the forefront of the industry, and it has also been pursuing compliance. We hope that OKX will continue to adhere to a user-centric and ethical attitude to serve cryptocurrency enthusiasts in the future.
Ni Da (Phyrex_Ni), a Chinese-speaking influencer, focuses on macro and on-chain data content, as well as ETFs and foreign exchange markets. Over the past three years, he has been consistently producing content with his own style and has grown from zero to having 250,000 followers as a Chinese-speaking influencer.
We are curious about what drives a person to transition to Web3 and persistently produce content on social media. Therefore, OKX has specially invited him to be a guest speaker for the “Friends of OKX” series, hoping that his journey of transformation, understanding of the industry’s current situation, and methodology of becoming a Chinese-speaking influencer can be helpful to you.
The “Friends of OKX” series is a special column produced by OKX, hosted by OKX official community ambassador Mercy (@Mercy_okx). Its aim is to provide learning and reference materials for novice users by exploring the stories, industry insights, and lessons learned from KOLs with different backgrounds.
I. Discussing the Opportunity of Crossing into Web3
1. Mercy @Mercy_okx: What drove you to enter the Web3 field? How did your past work experience help your current development?
Ni Da @Phyrex_Ni: My career started in traditional television, where I produced China’s first web game program. Since then, I have been deeply involved in the gaming industry, particularly focusing on the children’s gaming market. During the period from 2017 to 2018, I was responsible for investments and mergers in the gaming field at a company, with a focus on the children’s gaming sector.
We collaborated with well-known toy companies such as Alpha and Ludia to develop many licensed games. Despite having a number of high-quality intellectual properties (IP), the overall results did not meet expectations because the market was transitioning from web games to mobile internet at that time.
In 2017, the company faced financial difficulties, and the boss suggested that we explore the blockchain field. Unfortunately, due to lack of experience, our investments suffered heavy losses. This failure prompted me to start seriously studying blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency market.
In 2019, we shifted our focus to the Cosmos and Polkadot ecosystems, betting on this track. We invested in multiple Polkadot ecosystem projects and acquired a large amount of Polkadot tokens. Through this process, I gained a deeper understanding of the blockchain industry.
In 2021, I realized that small institutions had difficulty finding investment opportunities in high-quality projects, so I began to consider a transformation. Our team started sharing insights every week, initially just on friends’ circles, and then gradually moved the content to public accounts based on their suggestions.
On October 12, 2021, I officially started sharing content on Twitter. Initially, I tried to create English content, but I found that my English proficiency was not sufficient, so I shifted my focus to Chinese content creation.
That’s how I embarked on the path of content creation on Twitter. As the company scaled down, I devoted more energy to content creation. Today, I mainly focus on tweeting while also managing other tasks.
This is the journey of how I entered the Web3 industry and the starting point of sharing content on social media. Through continuous learning and sharing, I gradually established my influence in this field.
II. Using Myself as an Example, Discussing the Methodology of Becoming a Influencer
2. Mercy @Mercy_okx: As a Twitter influencer with 250,000 followers, how do you persistently produce high-quality macro content?
Ni Da @Phyrex_Ni: In fact, I didn’t initially have a strong desire to express myself. It was more driven by my own growth and learning needs. After the market crash on May 19, 2021, I felt confused about market judgments and started researching data analysis to find direction.
I initially came across some on-chain data analysis tools and found that compared to candlestick charts, data analysis is more objective and intuitive, which suits me better. I delve into these data every day, conducting in-depth research and recording analysis results as a means of self-review and learning.
As time went on, I realized that relying solely on on-chain data was not enough. The news of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike at the end of 2021 made me realize the profound impact of macroeconomics on the market. This prompted me to start studying macroeconomics and integrating on-chain data, macroeconomics, and technical analysis into a more comprehensive analytical framework.
The motivation to persistently produce content comes from two aspects: first, taking responsibility for myself, clarifying my thoughts through writing, and improving my analytical ability; second, hoping to help other investors who have felt lost. I am well aware of the confusion in investing and hope that my sharing can provide reference and assistance to others.
The key to long-term persistence lies in sincerity and passion. Each analysis is based on my own trading decisions, and this attitude of taking responsibility naturally reveals sincerity in the content. At the same time, continuous exploration in the field keeps me passionate, so even in a bearish market, I can still find growth and enjoyment.
3. Mercy @Mercy_okx: What do you think is the difference between personal IP and ordinary KOLs? What are the differences in content output methods?
Ni Da @Phyrex_Ni: The difference between personal IP and ordinary KOLs lies in the positioning and use of influence. Personal IP focuses more on achieving long-term goals through influence, while KOLs are more focused on traffic monetization.
As a personal IP, I focus on building influence in the public domain, primarily on Twitter, without managing other social platforms or paid groups. This allows me to focus on improving the quality of content and expanding influence.
In terms of content output, I always create content with a sense of responsibility to myself. Each article is based on my own trading decisions and thoughts, ensuring the authenticity and practicality of the content and maintaining a continuous output of high-quality content.
I believe that valuable personal IP should be committed to creating long-term value for the industry and users, rather than merely pursuing traffic monetization. Our collaboration with Solana is based on ideological resonance, not a financial transaction, aiming to help high-quality projects and communities create practical value.
Personal IP should have a long-term perspective, focusing on driving industry development and continuously creating value for users, rather than focusing on short-term interests.
4. Mercy @Mercy_okx: From zero to 250,000 followers, what methodology can newcomers learn from?
Ni Da @Phyrex_Ni: For newcomers, there are several key points worth learning from:
First and foremost, sincerity is the most important. Maintain sincerity towards yourself and your followers. Every piece of content I publish is based on my own investment decisions, and this attitude makes the content more valuable and easier to gain trust.
Second, choose a track that suits you and avoid blindly following trends. Find an area that genuinely interests you and where you have accumulated some knowledge. Deeply study it, so you can continue to produce high-quality content.
Third, patience and perseverance are crucial. Success cannot be achieved overnight. It took me three years and 180,000 tweets to invest a significant amount of time and effort. If you only pursue traffic or profits, it will be difficult to persevere.
Fourth, continuous learning and growth. The market is constantly evolving, and we need to keep pace with it. Stay curious and open-minded, and always be willing to learn and improve.
Changes require constant updates in knowledge. From blockchain data to macroeconomics, and then to multidimensional integration, I have always been learning new methods.
Fifth, active interaction. In the early days, exposure could be gained through comments from influencers, but it is important to ensure that the comments are constructive. At the same time, take feedback from the comments section seriously and treat interactions with kindness.
Lastly, content is key. While traffic is important, if valuable content cannot be continuously produced, the traffic will eventually be lost. Therefore, focus on improving the quality of content rather than purely pursuing numbers.
In summary, building personal influence takes time and passion. Find a field that you are passionate about, continue to learn and share, and establish long-term value.

Mercy@Mercy_okx:
Has being a prominent influencer brought you any benefits?
倪大
@Phyrex_Ni:
Becoming an influential influencer has indeed brought me many opportunities and conveniences, but I value more how to use these opportunities to create greater value rather than simply pursuing personal gain.
Take my collaboration with Solana as an example. Currently, there is no monetary transaction between us. The work I do for the Solana community, such as video production and participation in conferences, is self-financed because I believe in the potential of the Solana project and hope to help more people understand and participate in this ecosystem.
I believe that after gaining a certain level of influence, the most important thing is how to use that influence to make positive contributions. For me, this means introducing high-quality projects in the Chinese-speaking community to more people and changing their stereotypical impressions of these projects.
At the same time, I also strive to bring high-quality overseas projects into the Chinese-speaking community. My goal is not simply promotion, but through in-depth analysis and introduction, to help community members better understand these projects and make independent judgments.
Although this approach may not bring direct economic returns in the short term, I believe it can generate longer-term value. It not only helps me build deeper industry insights but also allows me to meet more excellent project teams and investors, which are resources that money cannot directly buy.
In conclusion, I value more how to use this influence to create value rather than how to profit from it. I firmly believe that only by truly creating value for the industry and users can one gain sustained support and recognition in the long term.

Mercy@Mercy_okx:
How has the ecosystem of KOLs changed compared to the previous cycle?
倪大
@Phyrex_Ni:
Indeed, the ecosystem of KOLs has undergone significant changes in this cycle, which is a positive development trend.
Firstly, the influence of traditional media has weakened, while the influence of individual KOLs and self-media has strengthened. Individual KOLs can provide more timely, professional, and in-depth content, especially in the field of blockchain data analysis, where their response speed and professionalism often surpass traditional media.
Secondly, there has been an increase in expert-type KOLs in specific fields. With the market becoming more complex, single-dimensional analysis cannot fully explain the market. KOLs who can provide in-depth insights in specific fields are becoming more popular, such as analysts focusing on macroeconomics or specific technical areas.
Thirdly, the value of KOLs lies not only in information dissemination but also in information interpretation and analysis. In the era of information explosion, content that helps users understand information and provides insights is truly valuable.
Fourthly, the cooperation between project parties and KOLs is evolving. Cooperation is no longer simply about paid promotion but seeks deeper collaboration to truly reach and educate users through KOLs.
Lastly, truly high-quality KOLs are more likely to stand out in this cycle. As the market becomes more mature, users’ discerning abilities improve, and only KOLs who consistently provide valuable content can gain long-term trust and support from users.
In summary, the ecosystem of KOLs is developing towards more professionalism, specialization, and depth. This is a positive signal for the entire industry, indicating that the quality of information is improving, and users can access more valuable content.

Mercy@Mercy_okx:
The KOL circle has a lot of noise and it is easy to lose sight of one’s original intention. How do you adjust your mindset and stay true to yourself?
倪大
@Phyrex_Ni:
I always maintain a mindset of “I’m just an ordinary person doing ordinary work.” I am well aware that what I do does not require high technical barriers, and many people can achieve the same with the same amount of time and effort. This realization keeps me humble and prevents any hint of arrogance or complacency.
Secondly, I am very aware that my current influence is hard-earned and is given to me by many supportive people. This influence is not my personal achievement but a responsibility. I know that if I engage in any behavior that crosses the line, I could quickly lose this support. Therefore, I constantly remind myself to cherish everything I have now and not to engage in any behavior that could erode this trust.
Furthermore, I always strive to do the right thing. When you have a certain level of influence, you will find that doing the right thing becomes easier. For example, I often use my influence to help people with limited funds but who genuinely need assistance. These actions may not bring me direct benefits, but they make me feel like I am doing something meaningful.
Moreover, I maintain my passion and curiosity for the industry. I continuously learn new knowledge and study new phenomena. This continuous learning state keeps me humble and enables me to provide value to the community.
Finally, I believe that staying true to oneself requires constant self-reflection and vigilance. It is not something that happens overnight but requires reminding oneself every day to stay humble, cherish everything one has, and always strive to create value for others. Only by doing so can one maintain long-term influence and reputation in this rapidly changing industry.
