JD Vance recently dismissed all rumors suggesting that Elon Musk would be sidelined by Trump. Vance confirmed that Musk would “be a friend and advisor to the President and Vice President.”
Even after serving as a special government employee for 130 days, Musk will remain close to the government. The rumors of Musk being sidelined first appeared in the political arena. Regarding the rumors, Vance added that the billionaire’s work “is not even close” to being finished in his role as governor.

Vance added that Musk signed up to serve the government for six months, which aligns with the billionaire’s own plans. He made these comments during an appearance on Fox News after the Democrats secured a critical election in the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
In that particular electoral contest, Musk spent $20 million campaigning and wore a cheesehead at a rally. The billionaire even distributed $1 million checks to voters.

Vance stated, “Elon comes in, and we say we need you to help make the government more efficient, reduce the bureaucracy that frustrates the American people, and also spend too much money.”
In a debunked position, Politico mentioned that Musk would “return from his current role as the omnipresent cheerleader and Washington Hatchet Man in the coming weeks.”
Vance labeled these reports as “complete fake news.”
Trump has no intention of keeping in touch with Elon Musk
Special government employees can work a total of 130 days per year. That’s just over three months. However, SGE is allowed to work over multiple years.
Since the President and Vice President consider him their close friend and aide, Musk doesn’t need a long-term formal role in the government. According to earlier reports by The New York Times, Trump “has no intention of keeping in touch with the world’s richest man even after leaving the government.”
According to reports from ###, a knowledgeable source clarified that Musk would not be deterred by the setback in Wisconsin. The source added, “He still wants to be heavily involved in politics.”
Recent polls show Musk is not particularly popular among Americans
Musk, the wealthiest person and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has garnered significant attention for leading Doge. However, it is evident that most Americans are dissatisfied with Musk’s recent decisions, according to recent polls.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll indicated that only 39% of Americans view Musk favorably. For the remaining 57% of participants, Musk is a negative figure. A smaller percentage (31%) agreed that Trump’s cuts to the federal government are reasonable or capable of being accomplished. This survey was conducted between March 31 and April 2.
Similarly, a Marquette Law School national survey conducted between March 17 and March 24 indicated that 41% of Americans approved of Musk’s actions as part of Doge. In this survey, Musk’s favorability rating was also low, with only 38% of participants considering him favorable.
Earlier last month, 54% of participants indicated, as part of a Quinnipiac University survey, that Doge and Musk are harming the U.S. About 4 out of 10 participants agreed that Musk’s efforts are beneficial to the country.
A Fox News national poll, on the other hand, recorded Musk’s approval rating at 40%, with 58% of respondents disapproving of his actions.
The recent backlash Musk faced was marked by protests erupting at Tesla showrooms across the U.S. and globally. Nevertheless, Trump continues to wholeheartedly praise Musk’s efforts. He stated on Thursday, “He’s doing a great job. We found millions of dollars in fraud, abuse, and waste, and they still… become…”
Republicans tend to have differing opinions. Some Republicans have begun to criticize Elon for political liabilities. Democrats have already targeted the billionaire, placing him under negative scrutiny.
