If you are familiar with the previous SupraOracles, we would like to reintroduce ourselves: we have grown into an integrated public chain called Supra. The name change primarily reflects our expansion beyond oracle services, while our core team, technology, and vision remain the same. Supra is the evolution of SupraOracles and is now steadily advancing as a fully vertically integrated L1 blockchain. We started with oracle services, but our vision extends far beyond that. We have always been striving to build a more comprehensive ecosystem, and now, that vision is gradually becoming a reality.
SupraOracles’ Early Journey
When we first entered the blockchain industry as SupraOracles, the name accurately reflected our core service at the time – oracles. Oracles serve as bridges between blockchain networks and the outside world, providing critical data support for smart contracts. At that time, we found a lack of secure, efficient, and scalable oracle solutions in the market, which led to the emergence of SupraOracles. Our goal was to address this critical pain point while providing essential infrastructure for over 100 decentralized applications (dApps).
This was the beginning of our journey in the blockchain industry, but our vision has always been to create a complete ecosystem that allows developers to seamlessly integrate various native services on the L1 smart contract network.
Advancing Supra: A Fully Vertically Integrated L1 Blockchain
From the start, we recognized that to build a blockchain that natively supports oracles, randomness (dVRF), automation, and cross-chain communication, we needed to create a powerful and highly scalable network. Therefore, we adopted a phased approach. The first phase was launched as SupraOracles, establishing ourselves as a trusted oracle service provider in the market. Meanwhile, we began developing a more ambitious project behind the scenes: the world’s first fully vertically integrated Layer 1 blockchain.
So, what does it mean to have a vertically integrated and fully integrated blockchain?
Traditional blockchains typically integrate consensus, data availability, and execution functionality into a single network. However, Supra L1 takes this concept further by integrating services such as oracles into the core network. This means that developers no longer need to rely on multiple protocols and networks to access oracle, randomness, or cross-chain services; everything can be achieved through Supra’s native network. This integration reduces complexity, enhances performance, and strengthens security.
The Development Journey of the Supra Network
Our team has been working behind the scenes to design and build the Supra L1 smart contract platform. This phase of development focuses on consensus algorithms, “tribes” & “clans” network architecture, as well as protocols for native oracles, randomness, and cross-chain communication. All related whitepapers and research findings are now available on our website.
One of the significant breakthroughs is the Moonshot consensus algorithm we developed. Unlike the consensus algorithms of other L1 blockchains, Moonshot has been formally verified and mathematically proven for its correctness and security. This feature is extremely rare in the blockchain field and provides significant advantages for Supra. Moonshot is not only secure, but also incredibly fast, achieving a throughput of 500,000 TPS and sub-second consensus finality on a network of 300 nodes worldwide. This provides a strong infrastructure for our vertically integrated network.
The Launch of the L1 Blockchain
After years of research and testing, we have finally reached this crucial moment. We will release the MoveVM version testnet in the second quarter of 2024, and the mainnet will go live in the fourth quarter of this year. We will also release our EVM version.
The advantages that our vertically integrated and fully integrated L1 public chain offers to developers and users include:
Unified Network and Seamless Experience: Developers no longer need to switch between different networks to integrate services such as oracles, randomness, automation, and cross-chain communication. All functionalities can be natively accessed within the Supra network. This simplifies dApp development and enhances user experience.
Shared Security: All services operate under a shared security model, with oracles, randomness, automation, and cross-chain communication all benefiting from the high-level security protection of the Moonshot consensus algorithm. This reduces the risks of security vulnerabilities that may arise when using different networks.
Performance Improvement: By integrating all services within the Supra network, they are more efficient compared to running on separate networks. This reduces latency, speeds up transaction processing, and provides a faster user experience.
Cost Reduction: Developers can save time and costs by not having to integrate services from multiple networks, allowing them to focus on innovation. Additionally, Supra adopts a single token model, simplifying service usage.
The Future of Supra: A New Era Begins
As Supra, we will continue to drive the development of Web3 and provide all resources related to L1 blockchain on Supra.com for developers and users. Our vertically integrated network, supported by Moonshot, will make decentralized applications more powerful, secure, and user-friendly. Whether you are building DeFi protocols, gaming platforms, or enterprise solutions, Supra provides the infrastructure you need to bring your ideas to life.
The transition from SupraOracles to Supra signifies our growth, ambition, and commitment. We are no longer just an oracle service provider; we are a complete L1 smart contract blockchain, integrating all necessary services into a seamless network.
The future of blockchain has arrived, and it is at Supra.com.
