Charles Hoskinson has ranked the cryptocurrency YouTube channel “Altcoin Daily” as the top cryptocurrency news media in fairly treating Cardano rankings. Coincidentally, the YouTube channel hosting the highly impartial investigation into media bias is… Altcoin Daily.
In the video, Hoskinson emphasized that the positive review of the media was not “just because we are doing an interview.”
In fact, according to the co-founder of Cardano and Ethereum, “Altcoin Daily has a huge audience, you guys have always been friendly, you are good people, you work hard to get things right and accurate.”
Altcoin Daily has 1.48 million subscribers and produces videos with clickbait titles.
Hoskinson then rated CoinDesk as a B, stating that they are accurate and fair in reporting hard forks. Hoskinson had considered acquiring the publisher last year, and in an interview, he claimed that he gave up the acquisition because “we felt that their expectations did not match.”
Hoskinson ranked Lex Fridman and Joe Rogan’s podcasts alongside Altcoin Daily as an S. However, he classified Crypto Banter, Bankless, and “mainstream media” as D.
He claimed that the host of “Crypto Banter” likes Luna and FTX, while hating Cardano, and described Bankless as “bastards.” He said Bankless “are not legitimate people” and “are not actually interested in having a rational and honest conversation about Cardano.”
He then discussed the political and philosophical narrative of the “mainstream media,” describing the agenda followed by the media as, “we like the people in the White House now, so what we need to do is anti-crypto.”
He said, “If you are going to talk about something, talk about it with a beginner’s mind, try to understand and acknowledge what your bias is,” and then described his bias with cryptocurrencies. He did not mention any potential biases in the Altcoin Daily rankings.
It is currently unclear why “Altcoin Daily” did not include Protos in Hoskinson’s ranking list, but we can confirm that the newsroom is frustrated by this.
